Janelle Jamison talks about the
Master in Teaching program:

Why Northwest

I chose to come to Northwest University because I wanted to pursue their educational program. I did my undergraduate work there, and while I was pursuing my education they began the Master in Teaching program.

I chose to do the MIT program because I was currently a teacher, teaching in Lake Washington public schools, and it just seemed like a perfect fit. I was able to get to class after work, and it was a great opportunity for professional development.

Experience at Northwest

I loved Northwest. I loved the opportunity to work with my cohort; it was fun to develop as fellow educators. I enjoyed the opportunity to really know my professors, and have them come and even see –– observing in the classroom –– and getting just great techniques.

Program Structure

First of all, it was two nights a week, which really worked with my schedule. It made it feasible and interactive. It was very fun to go to class and be with people who were all going and doing the same profession.

After Graduation

Now that I have completed the MIT program, I am a current teacher in the Lake Washington School District. I'’m teaching first grade, which is my dream job, and I just give God thanks for the opportunity to use my education on a daily basis.

I would encourage people thinking about looking into a master’'s program to really consider Northwest because there is such a great opportunity to grow as a professional with the MIT program.
